30 days of thanks: day 15

Today I’m thankful…

that I didn’t have to wake my kids up before they were ready,

that I didn’t have to go out and start the van so it would be warm as we left for school,

or send them out in the dark, cold, rainy morning to ride a stinky, jerk-filled school bus,

that I didn’t have to rush them through breakfast,

that we read the Bible while we ate warm eggs and yummy doughnuts (thanks Aunt Faye),

that we worked together on chores and schoolwork,

that I didn’t have to pack a cold lunch and wonder if they ate any of it,

that I could wipe my little girl’s tears when she couldn’t get her word spelled correctly,

that I could joke with my son about a science experiment and the way you say “Qatar”,

that I don’t have to wake up the baby to go sit in a carpool line,

that I don’t get the left-overs of my children’s days.

I’m thankful for homeschooling!
